Who we are

MeGC runs a marketplace and project workspace for construction work. This policy covers the personal information we handle when you use the site, the dashboard and our emails.

What we collect

Account details - your name, email address, password ( stored hashed ), and for vendors the business name, phone number and where you are based.
Verification - vendors confirm a phone number and complete an identity check with our verification partner. We keep the result of the check, not copies of your documents.
Jobs, bids and projects - what you post, the bids and contracts, tasks, files, messages and time logs you add to a project.
Payments - card payments and payouts are handled by Stripe. We keep the record of each transaction; we never see or store full card numbers.
Technical data - your device and browser, the pages you open and the actions you take, used to keep your session secure and to improve the product.

How we use it

To run your account and show your jobs, bids, projects and profile to the people they are meant for.
To match jobs with suitable vendors, and to verify vendors before they go live.
To hold and release milestone payments, and to help when a job goes wrong.
To send the emails and notifications the service needs; marketing only if you opt in.
To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet our legal obligations.

With the other side of a job - a client and the vendors they work with see what the job needs them to. With service providers who run parts of MeGC for us ( hosting, email, payments, identity verification ), under contract and only for that purpose. With authorities when the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is open, and afterwards only as long as we need it for payments, disputes, tax and legal records.

Your choices and rights

You can see and correct your details in your account settings, close your account, and ask us what we hold about you. Depending on where you live you may have further rights; contact us to use them.

Security

Connections are encrypted, passwords are hashed, and access to personal information is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure - tell us straight away if you think your account has been compromised.
